Hypnosis has many many uses. Quite simply it is an altered state of being that opens the doors to our inward world.
Once we look at the numerous benefits of hypnosis, we can rid the world of the negative stigma surrounding it. I personally believe hypnosis has far too many positive effects to be held in poor light. Hence, I will do my part to show you how hypnosis can move you forward in your quest for personal development and spiritual growth.
My favorite hypnotist and the number one online hypnotist is Wendi Friesen. I find her very humorous and entertaining as a person. Wendi has a smooth soothing voice that certainly must be a prerequisite to become a hypnotist!
Check out her website and take advantage of her many specials by joining her newsletter. I love her brain massage CD. Check here to find Wendi’s award winning site!

Hypnosis has many faces, which is part of its fascination as a career. It is conceivable that a single hypnotist could cover all of its facets. Some hypnotists actually combine hypnotherapy with a career on the stage but one of the most incredible things about hypnosis is all its unusual uses.
1. Hypnosis can effectively enhance memory recall, allowing subjects to experience past events very vividly, even to the point of believing that they are consciously present at these events. How far can this go? And as you may have heard, some people think hypnosis can recover memories from a past lifetime.
2. Forensic hypnosis has been used often in enhancing the memory of participants in criminal court cases, primarily with victims or witnesses to enhance the memory of the event. It was used in the cases of Ted Bundy, Sam Shepherd and Albert DeSalvo, the Boston Strangler. In the case of DeSalvo, it was used with the defendant himself.
3. Hypnosis can induce a partial or almost complete state of anaesthesia, making subjects or patients oblivious to the surgeon’s knife, a state presumably similar to that of an Indian fakir, who can stick needles into his arm or lie on a bed of nails without experiencing pain.
4. Another, scientifically verifiable aspect of hypnosis is the ability to create positive hallucinations. When I was in elementary school, I read a book on hypnosis that claimed that the hypnotist had created, for himself, a little pink elephant that followed him around all the time. The trouble was that he couldn’t get rid of it right away. He had forgotten to suggest the possibility for removal of that little pink phantom. That really impressed me as to the potential of hypnosis.
5. Hypnosis can be used to create relaxation during contractions in childbirth. It also helps to create a positive, trusting attitude toward the labor and birthing processes. Stress hormones are eliminated that are fundamentally responsible for the pain in childbirth. Instead, wonderful endorphins that are your body’s natural pain relievers (and nature’s love drug) are elevated, thus keeping the laboring mother in a state of relaxation and having a sense of well-being.
6. One extraordinary use of hypnosis is involved with overcoming specific phobias. Phobias are deeply held unconscious fears which affect a person?s whole life and psychological well-being.
7. Perhaps one of the most important aspects of hypnosis is its ability to suggest and influence courses of action to people both inside of and outside the hypnotic trance. A suggestion given within a state of hypnosis that will have effect outside is called a post-hypnotic suggestion. These types of suggestions can have a profound and meaningful effect when trying to influence discordant habitual behaviour like smoking or gambling.

Top Myths About Hypnosis for Weight Loss
Top Myths About Hypnosis for Weight Loss
By Valerie Dawson, Certified Hypnotherapist
Creator of Weight Loss Fast and Easy
Thanks for your interest in learning about the power, safety and effectiveness of hypnosis to lose weight. You should be congratulated on taking all the right steps to learn and discover as much as you can about hypnotherapy before making the decision to use this highly effective technique to help you lose weight and keep it off for good.
Let’s first examine some common myths about hypnosis.

Myth #1: The hypnotist has total control over you and make you do anything, even something against your will.
This myth has been going around for a very long time and this belief has stood in the way of people who could have reached their goal weight years ago. Many potential success stories have never been told because of the power of this one myth.
Truth be told, when you’re under hypnosis you are still under your own control. You can turn it on or off. You are the boss. This is precisely why the audios you receive as a member of my Weight Loss Fast and Easy, are so powerful. You make the ultimate decision to tell your brain to stop overeating, not me. When your brain takes instruction from you during hypnosis, something amazing happens. Like a soldier taking orders from a drill sergeant, your brain listens, and complies.
Myth #2: Hypnosis can be dangerous.
Just the opposite is true. Hypnosis is in fact an extremely safe and a natural way to take control of your efforts to lose weight. Need proof? The American Medical Association approved the use of hypnosis in the 1950’s. As a result, doctors all over the world have been referring their patients to hypnotists for over 4 decades. In my area, I am the number one doctor referred hypnotist.
Myth #3: You can get stuck in hypnosis and never come out.
This is a fairy tale. If you’re ever in hypnosis and your hypnotist were to pass out, have a heart attack or some other emergency, one of two things would happen. You would either realize the hypnotist was gone and you’d open your eyes feeling perfectly fine - or you would drift into a normal sleep for a few minutes and then wake up feeling just fine. That’s it. No drama, no fictional zombie stories. In the real world, it’s as simple — and as safe — as this.
Myth #4: Many people can’t be hypnotized.
Almost anyone can be hypnotized, in fact, 95% of people can reach this state — but they must want to. No one can be hypnotized against their will.
The only exceptions are very small children, people with very low IQ’s, and people with severe mental disabilities or neurological problems.
Myth #5: Hypnosis is sleep.
Hypnosis is, in all actuality, the state of consciousness between being awake and being asleep. We actually go into trances all the time. Ever drive home and not remember the streets you were on? This is simply your conscious mind daydreaming while your unconscious mind was keeping you safe on the road.
Myth #6: Only weak-minded people can be hypnotized.
This is another Hollywood sensationalism dating back to the silent film era. The Evil Genius hypnotizes the Loyal Half-wit and directs him to carry out frightful atrocities. First, it is difficult to hypnotize a half-wit. Second, once the hypnosis session is over, it is over. There are no lasting trances or delayed triggers.
Actually, the smarter you are and the more strong-willed you are the easier it is to be hypnotized! Go figure.
Myth 7: Deep hypnosis is necessary for good results.
Another fictional tale perpetuated on screens big and small. Good results can be achieved at any level of hypnosis - from light trance to deep trance.
As you can clearly see, the myths surrounding hypnosis are categorically false. Using my Weight Loss Fast and Easy, hypnosis program, there is no ifs, maybe, or hopefully. You WILL lose weight and keep it off, all simply by listening to the powerful hypnotic audios!
Now is the time to finally end the struggle to manage your weight so you can wear those skinny jeans again, feel great about going to the beach, improve your love life, and feel younger, healthier and happier!
With the Weight Loss Fast and Easy, you’ll actually reprogram your mind with healthy new habits so you can finally end your struggle with weight once and for all. Yes, you really can get thin and stay thin!

Hypnosis, Does It Have Integrity?
I have received feedback that hypnosis should not be a topic on this mind, body, soul blog. Hypnosis at times generates a vast array of feedback and often carries a negative stigma.
I would like to address this belief today.
Does hypnosis belong in this blog and does it have the integrity that I should be promoting it? I appreciate the opportunity to discuss this issue.
First off, I want to remind readers this blog will only discuss what is best for the good of all. The integrity of the topics and posts will always have to address the thought, does this post/product serve for the highest good of all?
Integrity is number 1 and will contine to be my focus.
Hypnosis is controversial by nature. We utilize anywhere from 5-10% of our brain’s conscious capabilities. In this vain, we have so much to learn and explore about the brain and its function.
This leaves 90-95% to our sub conscious. With so much of our sub conscious capacity untapped, the avenues we can use to drill down to the sub conscious are fruitful.
Hypnosis is one way we can tap into this vast openess in the sub conscious. It is here in the sub conscious we have many unfilled answers to our own emotions, behaviors and personal pysches.
Hypnosis is a valuable tool we can use to learn about ourselves at a deep level. Used in the proper context, hypnosis can be beneficial beyond our belief.
Hence, I will only promote hypnosis programs that I find beneficial in the study of our personal pysches. Your personal growth will be the focus always.
