Stillness

David Arenson sent this beautiful enlightening post via facebook. I wanted to share it with you because of the value of stillness.

Stillness is …..

=====

By David G Arenson

Stillness is in the silence between the breaths, the space between thoughts. It is the expansion of awareness beyond the limitation of definitions and labeling that comes from thinking.

Stillness is not something that can be sought, in fact the harder you seek it, the less likely you are to find it. When you attempt to find stillness, you create a thrust or thought form which chases away that which you seek.

Stillness arises from the depths of consciousness to the space beyond perception. Stillness is of perception but also beyond conception, of consciousness but also beyond consciousness. Let me explain this. Stillness can be consciously conceived of, and yet at the same time transcend that very conception or broad definition.

If the baby in its mother’s womb represents the thought form of stillness, then stillness is its emancipation from the birthing canal into existence. You give birth to stillness when you go beyond its definition and experience it as an experience. The experience of stillness cannot be described or limited by definition. Thus describing stillness is the very essence of what it is not.

Do not try to understand stillness. That’s impossible. Instead realize a broader truth. Stillness is a vision of expansiveness beyond the confines of the mind. It is the created uncreated.

When stillness watches it sees every moment as a new Epiphany. Stillness sees every magical second that goes by as a billion miracles cascading forth in multi-coloured light.

Stillness is pure potentiality. Beyond conception is the stillness that watches all…the compassionate emptiness before the big bang creation.

Experiencing stillness puts you in touch with the intelligence beyond intelligence, the magic and glory of pure potentiality. This is the womb of God.

Stillness is getting back to the source, the ein sof (infinite) of divine light. Embrace it, experience it, and allow it to work miracles in your life…

The Discovery by David Hawkins

By Colleen Lilly On March 4, 2009 No Comments

Stop pursuing and discover the direct path to God today!

, M.D., Ph.D, has traveled along the outermost edges of spiritual evolution for more than four decades. From calling on God when he was on the brink of death to living as a hermit for 12 years to focus on spiritual study and meditation, Dr. Hawkins is a true spiritual warrior.

The DiscoveryDavid Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D, has traveled along the outermost edges of spiritual evolution for more than four decades. From calling on God when he was on the brink of death to living as a hermit for 12 years to focus on spiritual study and meditation, Dr. Hawkins is a true spiritual warrior.

Now, Dr. Hawkins, the creator of the spiritual power breakthrough that allows you to reach enlightened states using the well-established science of muscle-testing, has created his most transformational program yet.

In The Discovery: Revealing the Presence of God in Your Life, Dr. Hawkins reveals critical “insider” information that provides a simple clarity for “being” and “living” the reality of the mystic in your daily life. He provides an instruction manual for the serious spiritual devotee for learning how to:

Feel the presence of God in the “ordinary” moments of your life.

Begin to practice contemplation — a more effective form of spiritual awakening than meditation — in your daily life.

+ Let God play an active role in shaping your daily life.

+ Discern false teachers from those who will truly help you.

+ Avoid some of the dark, spiritual traps on your journey.

+ Undo and unload your mind so you can awaken to the existing enlightenment that is already in and around you.

+ Deal with the demands that modern life makes on you as you seek to follow the inner/spiritual pathway.

+ Give up your ego’s addiction to what it perceives to be the world.

For those on the spiritual path, this is your guidepost to enlightenment. You will learn a great deal of where you are on your journey and what is ahead. A great resource to go back and listen to time after time.

The Discovery lifts a veil in your consciousness to reveal a world of magical divine realities that are happening to you every day of your life. By practicing Dr. Hawkins’ ideas, you won’t merely “know about” spiritual realities by reading the works of great spiritual mystics, you will “know” that such spiritual realities exist.

The Discovery is one of my all time favorite programs of Dr Hawkins. I think you will enjoy it, too!

Highest Level of Enlightenment

By Colleen Lilly On February 16, 2009 No Comments

, M.D., Ph.D, conducted a 29-year study that demonstrated that the human body becomes stronger or weaker depending on a person’s mental state. He created a scale from 1-1000 that mapped human consciousness. Furthermore, he demonstrated that this map can be used as a blueprint to reach higher states of consciousness that can be identified simply by applying a small amount of pressure on an outstretched arm!

Dr. Hawkins’ research is based on a well-established science called kinesiology, which has to do with the testing of an all-or-none muscle response stimulus. A positive stimulus generates a strong muscle response and a negative stimulus results in a demonstrable weakening of the test muscle. Clinical kinesiological muscle testing as a diagnostic technique has been verified widely over the past 25 years.

Not only that, but this simple method has also been demonstrated to be an effective tool for instantly calibrating human consciousness. Hawkins created a scale of consciousness based on current discoveries in advanced theoretical physics and the nonlinear dynamics of chaos theory. And this “map of consciousness” now makes it possible for anyone to advance toward higher levels of enlightenment faster than ever imagined!

After listening to this program, you’ll be able to:

* Advance your level of consciousness and your understanding of human behavior, just by learning the map of consciousness.

* Gain instant access to information that is beyond the capacity of all the world’s computers.

* Detect the exact point in any complex system where the least effort brings about the greatest result.

* Understand the power of a simple attitude adjustment as well as the consequences of various emotional states.

* Learn how people who calibrate high on the map of consciousness can raise the energy level and calibration of thousands of others just by being in their presence!

* Heal yourself of illness or addiction by reaching the state of consciousness in which it vanishes.

* Learn which foods, environments, companies, books, etc. are harmful (low energy) and which are beneficial (high energy).

* Discover the truth or falsity of any statement, irrespective of your opinions or feelings about it.

Is That So?

By Colleen Lilly On February 15, 2009 2 Comments

My favorite passage in Eckhart Tolle’s ‘A New Earth’ is a chapter called “Is That So?

I found this writing very powerful. Leave it to a Zen Master to give us a powerful insight into mastering the ego.

Here is how the story goes …..

The Zen Master Hakuin lived in a town in Japan. He was a well respected Zen Master and many people came to see him for spiritual teaching. Then it happened that the teenage daughter of his next-door neighbor became pregnant. When being questioned by her angry parents as to the identity of the father, she finally told them that he was Hakuin, the Zen Master.

The angry parents rushed over to Hakuin and told him with much shouting and accusing that their daughter had confessed that he was the father. All he replied was, ” Is that so?

News of the scandal spread throughout the town. The Master lost his reputation. This did not trouble him. Nobody came to see him anymore. He remained unmoved. When the child was born, the parents brought the baby to Hakuin. “You are the father, so you look afte him.” The Master took loving care of the child. A year later, the mother remorsefully confessed to her parents that the real father of the child was the young man who worked at the butcher shop.

In great distress they went to see Hakuin to apologize and ask for . “We are really sorry. We have come to take the baby back. Our daughter confessed that you are not the father.” “Is that so?” is all he would say as he handed the baby over to them.

The Master responded to bad news and good news, in exactly the same way: “Is that so?” He allows the form of the moment, good or bad, to be as it is and so does not become a participant in human drama. Events are not personalized. He is nobody’s victim. Only if you resist what happens are you at the mercy of what happens, and the world will determine your happiness and unhappiness.

Imagine briefly how the ego would have reacted during the various stages of the unfolding of these events. How did you react to this story? What emotions did you experience? Now imagine yourself reacting as the Zen Master Hakiun reacted to this situation.

Is there a situation in your life right now that is consumed by the ego? Could you say “Is That So?”

Practice this new reality. Live in the moment and practice the art of non resistance. When you become friendly with the moment, life becomes friendly toward you: people become helpful, circumstances cooperative.

Ultimately as Eckhart Tolle says, the decision to make the present moment into your friend is the end of the ego. The ego can never be in alignment with the present moment. Time is what the ego lives on.

There are many valuable lessons in Ekhart Tolle’s A New Earth.

10 Books to Read Before You Die

By Colleen Lilly On January 24, 2009 1 Comment

A Harris poll has given us the top 10 Books to read before you die.

Do you agree with this poll? Would you add another book?

Comments please!

Here is the list ….

#1 - The Holy Bible

The most popular and best-selling book of all time is The Holy Bible. No book has had more influence on the world. Its pages tell the story of the creation, fall, and redemption of mankind. Relive the story of creation and the fall of man in Genesis. Cross the wilderness with Moses in Exodus. Welcome the coming of Jesus Christ in the Gospels. The Holy Bible contains epic stories of history, heroism, and hope.

#2 - Gone With the Wind

Published in 1936, Gone With The Wind sold 50,000 copies on its first day, and two million after a year. Even though it is 1,037 pages long, readers all over the world snatched up the book. In 1937 it was awarded the Pulitzer Prize. Mitchell prided herself on the historical accuracy of her work. Gone With The Wind is a sweeping account of how the Civil War tore apart an entire way of life, and Scarlett O’Hara is one of the most enduring characters in American fiction.

#3 - The Lord of the Rings

The Lord of the Rings is regarded by many to be the most important and influential work of fantasy of the 20th century. It generated the fantasy novel industry practically single-handedly, inspiring a multitude of novels concerning elves and dwarves on quests to conquer ultimate evil despite overwhelming odds. Although intended to be published as a single volume, its division into a trilogy created the iconic format for epic fantasy literature.

#4 - Harry Potter series

Follow Harry Potter from his first days at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, through his many adventures with Hermione and Ron, to his confrontations with rival Draco Malfoy and the dreaded Professor Snape. From a dangerous descent into the Chamber of Secrets to the Triwizard Tournament to the return of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, each adventure is more riveting and exhilarating than its predecessor.

#5 - The Stand

In 1978, Stephen King published The Stand, the novel that is now considered to be one of his finest works. It depicts his apocalyptic vision of a world blasted by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. It is a gripping work with the scope and moral complexity of a true epic. Those reading The Stand for the first time will discover a triumphant and eerily plausible work of the imagination that takes on the issues that will determine our survival.

#6 - The Da Vinci Code

The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered. Near the body, police have found a baffling cipher. While working to solve the enigmatic riddle, Robert Langdon is stunned to discover it leads to a trail of clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci — clues visible for all to see — yet ingeniously disguised by the painter. The Da Vinci Code heralds the arrival of a new breed of lightning-paced, intelligent thriller…utterly unpredictable right up to its stunning conclusion.

#7 - To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird is about the crisis of human behavior and conscience arising from the racism and prejudice that exist in the small Southern town during the Depression. Scout Finch tells the story of her father’s defense of Tom Robinson, a young black man who is being tried for the rape of a white woman. Harper Lee’s only novel, awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1961, is a much-beloved tale of growing up, as well as an exploration of heroism confronted with bigotry.

#8 - Angels and Demons

When a canister of anti-matter is stolen from a Swiss research facility, Robert Langdon is called in to investigate. In Angels and Demons, a Harvard professor, Langdon is an expert on the ancient, quasi-scientific, and widely feared organization know as the Illuminati, who may or may not be wrapped up in the mystery.

#9 - Atlas Shrugged

Rand’s 1200-page novel Atlas Shrugged is a hymn of praise to the concept of rugged individualism, personified in John Galt. This polemic for Rands philosophy of “rational self-interest” has been a steady seller since it was published in 1957.

#10 - The Catcher in the Rye

J. D. Salinger’s famous and enduring chronicle of Holden Caulfield’s journey from innocence to experience is the quintessential coming-of-age novel. Salinger’s 1951 novel The Catcher in the Rye was a bestseller and became an immediate cult favorite, but it has also, over the years, been subject to criticism and even censorship because of its liberal use of profanity, its frank conversations about sex, and its generally irreverent view of the adult world.

Note: This list is based on the results of a Harris Poll that asked 2,413 U.S. adults to name their favorite books.

Truth Vs Falsehood

By Colleen Lilly On November 5, 2008 No Comments
Learn the REAL TRUTH about anything in just seconds!

Until now, we have been like sailors at sea without a compass to keep us on track in our journey toward truth and . So we sometimes make mistakes when deciding which spiritual texts to live by, which political leaders have the most integrity, and which job, house, or even vitamins are for our highest good.

We all struggle this way because our minds, which are like computer hardware, are simply incapable of discerning Truth and Reality from falsehood. The mind is limited by the “software” it runs day in and day out.

    Truth vs. Falsehood

Our mind’s software is different from everyone else’s. It is composed of your experiences, opinions, beliefs, and feelings; all of which affect your perception of truth.

Only in the last decade has a Science of Truth emerged that, for the first time in history, enables the discernment of objective truth from falsehood…

After conducting a 29-year study, developed a revolutionary science of consciousness that revealed that degrees of truth reflect concordant calibrated levels of on a scale of 1 to 1,000.

In Truth vs. Falsehood, Dr. Hawkins shares the simple, instantaneous technique that, like litmus paper, differentiates truth from falsehood in a matter of seconds.

You’ll discover that Truth and Reality have no secrets, and everything that exists now or in the past, even a thought, is identifiable and calibratable forever from the omnipresent field of Consciousness itself.

After listening to this program, you’ll be able to:

    > Jump the chasm between what something is and what you think it is.

    > Make decisions much more quickly and with greater peace of mind.

    > Get rid of the illusions that have been keeping you from true happiness and enlightenment.

    > Tell which companies, spiritual modalities, foods, books-and everything else-operate from the highest levels of Truth.

    > Increase your spiritual energy and thereby help raise the energy of others just by being in their presence.

    > Quickly determine if a project will work before you invest money, time, and energy into it.

    > Instantly discern the level of honesty of any teacher, business, investment, politician, business associate, witness, lawyer, or crime suspect.

I love this program! You will have tools to use for the rest of your life.

Age Of Enlightenment

By Colleen Lilly On August 4, 2008 No Comments

and its is a slow process. It goes through some distinct stages. And in each stage, the world appears different. How life appears to us depends on where we are placed.

The view is dependent on where we stand. will always look at things from a particular perspective, labor from another. Man from one, woman from another. The way we look at things gives them their meaning.

At different levels of spiritual development the world will inevitably appear different. Broadly speaking these would be influenced by the major experiences on the path.

The Age of Innocence is a stage when we believe that everything will be perfect. When you are a child, you take it for granted that everybody exists only to fulfil your needs, whims and fancies. A child takes it as a right that when he cries at night somebody will come and attend to the problem. Many adults have not outgrown this stage.

They expect to be taken care of and loved. They are always expecting somebody to do something. The government should do this, the teachers should do that, the neighbours should be thus. Everybody should do everything so that they will live happy lives. When such persons come to spirituality, they have the same relationship with God. They look upon Him as some kind of Santa Claus whose primary function is to grant wishes.

The Age of Disillusionment is when we find out that life is not perfect and things are inherently flawed. The child grows up and faces the reality that he is not the centre of the universe and for the most part the universe doesn’t know he exists or is indifferent to his existence. This is the pain of adolescence. People in this stage say there is no God or there is no use believing in Him. They may become cynical or atheistic.

The Age of Responsibility is a stage when we start taking responsibility for our life. No more will others look after us. We will operate within the realm of cause and effect. We will get just rewards of our actions. Nobody is looking out for me and i must look out for myself says a person in the age of responsibility. He takes responsibility for his life. Many materialistic achievers fall in this category.

The Age of Keeperhood is when a person starts really growing spiritually. It dawns on him that he is ‘his brother’s keeper’. Far from the world being there to take care of him, he is there to take care of the world. Instead of wanting others to share his pain, he wishes to relieve the pain of others. These are the noble people, the or Abraham Lincolns. Who fight to serve the world they came to and leave it a better place for their service.

The Age of Enlightenment extends far beyond that of ‘keeperhood’. When love becomes universal, when there is complete identification, people are no more my brothers. They are me. I and they are one. My self is the Self in all. Even to love somebody there must be two. Enlightenment sees only the One, the non-dual.

It is the culmination of , the state of a Krishna or Rama, a Buddha or Christ, a Mahavir or a Mohammed. It is the blessed state of or moksha, the zenith of spiritual growth, the state of complete knowledge.
