It can sometimes be difficult to find time for meditation. In my own life, I had to make meditation my first priority in the morning in order to work it into my schedule. As soon as I wake up, I pile pillows in back of myself in bed and meditate right there. I always have time for it. I can’t imagine starting a day without it.

Some people are quite creative in working meditation into their lives. Creating a quiet space can sometimes be as much of a hurdle as creating time. You could reserve a corner in a room, and make sure that it remains clean and uncluttered so that it is always ready for you.

A closet large enough to sit in could become a peaceful meditation hideaway for you, complete with comfortable pillow and decorations. A secluded corner of a garden would also work.

Many of those who meditate like to have their personal sacred objects around them like a beloved picture, a favorite candle, a beautiful rug. No matter what appeals to you, you must decide to make room for meditation, every day.

There are many different methods of meditation. Explore all the possibilities and you’re sure to find one that works for you. Every meditation’s objective is to go into the silence.

Multiple resources exist. You could consult magazines, books, web sites, religious organizations, seminars, workshops, and meditation/yoga centers. You could also try instructional videos or CDs, which provide guided meditations.

Following is a short list of several methods of meditation: Some may surprise you, but meditation is more a matter of what you bring to the practice.

*Focus on the petals of a flower
*Drink a cup of tea on your patio or in your garden
*Walk
*Do yoga
*Wax your car
*Mow the grass
*Iron
*Art (draw, color etc)

A meditation can be anything which takes you into silence, both inner and outer, and clears your mind of all thoughts. Try as many methods as you need until you find one area that work for you, and proceed on your journey to the life of your dreams.

The Power of Focus

The Power of Focus

By Alan Tutt
Author of Choose To Believe

“Anything is possible to that person who can focus their on one thing exclusively until that focus is no longer required.”

Very few people are able to truly focus their minds. Most of us get side-tracked, distracted, lose interest, or simply try to do too much.

It seems that when we try to focus ourselves to a single task, other things present themselves and we find ourselves unable to decide how to proceed. Do we continue doing what we were working on, or do we switch gears and go off in a new (possibly better) direction?

  • Starlight Express border lily
Creative Commons License photo credit: the1pony
  • writes extensively about the power of determined focus of mind in his classic, . Sticking to a decision as if your life depends upon it is one of the key points that Mr. Hill was determined to get across to the reader of that magical self-help masterpiece.

There are many example of exactly WHY being focused leads to success.

One example – have you ever tried to cut a piece of steak with a butter knife? Doesn’t work nearly as well as using a sharp (physically focused) knife, does it?

What happens when you focus a beam of light into a point with a lens?
That light gets hot enough to burn paper, right? Further focus of light into a single wave length yields a laser beam that can even cut through metal.

While most people have difficulty juggling 5 balls at once due to the diffusion of focus required for the task, almost everyone can easily juggle a single ball – because their mind is focused!

Henry Ford proved to the world that a group of people are far more productive when each person focuses upon a single aspect of the overall process. Now, assembly lines are the standard way to manufacture anything.

Top business people find that they are able to get much more work done when they clear off their desks and work on one task at a time. They pull out a folder, do the work required, and file it away until it’s needed again.

Those who list the things they must do each day on a ‘To Do’ list find that they are able to get much more done in a day simply because they are focused on one thing at a time until each item on the list has been checked off.

Those who meditate find that by focusing their minds to a single point provides them with a clarity of mind that yields some interesting results. Not only do they attain greater inner peace, but they are able to deal with Life’s many challenges with less effort and happier results.

And those who work with mind power development courses such as the or the find that as they acheive greater degrees of mental focus, they are able to influence the world around them in ways that seem almost magical.

Mental focus is not something that you either have or you don’t, but is something that can be developed through exercise, practice, and determination. However well or poorly you are presently able to focus your mind, you can develop your mental powers to the point where you can focus on a single thing without any distractions whatsoever.

Anyone can set aside 5 minutes at a time to develop their power of focus. One simple exercise you can do during this time is to count backwards, starting at 100 and counting down to 1. Don’t rush through this, take your time. The idea is to focus your mind completely on each number before moving on to the next one.

Another simple exercise is to memorize things. Pull out your contact list – those people whose names and phone numbers you need on a regular basis. Or anything else you find yourself looking up from time to time. This exercise has the added benefit of practical application.

However you decide to develop your power of focus, you’ll find that you’re able to get much more out of life because of it.

    Good luck.

Where Will You Be in 10 Years?

Writing a letter to yourself to be read in 10 years is a very
    interesting exercise.

My college pals and I did this in the last days of our college
years. We wrote what we thought we would be doing in 10
    years.

We did get together on the 10 year anniversary of our college
graduation and read the letters. We had a blast reading them.

Some of us were right on and some of us were really off track.

I think the secret is to have a copy of the letter and read it
over and over if you are not sure of where you want to be in
    10 years.

Below is an article about writing a letter to yourself. It will
prove to be a valuable lesson.

    ==========

See Yourself Ten Years In the Future

    By Christopher Westra
    Creator of the Program

See in your mind’s eye where you really want to be in ten years time.

Choose your own values, activities, and relationships rather than copying others.

Complete this exercise that I’ve done with thousands of people to learn what you really want in life. This is your chance to dream and create in your imagination anything you want to do or be!

My Own Experience with the Ten Years Exercise

While working with troubled teens, I used to have them do a Ten Years in the Future exercise. I asked them to write a letter to a friend as if it was ten years in the future.

Most of these boys and girls didn’t think about the next week, much less ten years to come. Like the Cheshire cat says in Alice in Wonderland, “If you don’t know where you want to go, then it doesn’t really matter what road you take!”

Of course, this lack of “foresight” was a major reason their lives were pretty messed up. We had some great conversations as they really thought about what they wanted. For most of them, this was the first time they had ever thought this way!

But the real story is what happened to me. I did the exercise right along with them on many occasions, writing my dreams and visions in detail. In my letter to a friend, I had moved to the country, built my own home, become a black belt in the martial arts, authored a book, and started my own business working from home.

Over the next ten years, something magic happened. All my dreams and visions became a reality, almost as if orchestrated by an unseen hand. I realized that something very powerful was happening, more powerful than I realized initially. I did write books and start my business. We did move to the country and I did build my own home.

    How to Write Your Letter

This letter to a friend will become a magnetic factor in your life, even if you write it once and then file it away. Your vision will guide you in your yearly goals, your monthly goals, and your daily activities.

You must write your letter as if it has already happened. For example:

“Dear Bob, so much has happened in the last ten years. Rachel and I have moved to Australia and live on a 2000 acre ranch.”

“Leslie, I just wanted to make contact again and tell you about my life. I started my own gardening business in 2012 and it’s really taken off.”

“Dear Harold, I met the love of my life in 2016 and we moved to Hawaii where Frank works in a bookstore and I give surfing lessons everyday. We love it.”

Remember, describe all the details as if they have already happened.

What to Include in Your Ten Years Letter

Include where in the world you live, how you earn your living, and your primary relationships. Add lots of names and details. Get creative.

Write about your hobbies and your real passions and interests. How do you give back to the community and the world? What do you read? What do you drive and where do you travel on your vacations?

You can write about your daily schedule and activities, your gardens, your office, or whatever is really important to you.

Make your letter at least one page long and write it to a real person who you think you may still know in ten years. This will help make it more real for you.

After I learned the power of this exercise, I wrote up an 11 page document that has guided my life in the past few years. One page is good, unless you really want to expand and write more.

    Just for Fun
To get your creative mind flowing, include some future inventions or world changes in your letter. I had the teens do this also and we had fun with it. You can include possible political changes, new technology, social changes, and much more.

Sit down and write (or type) your Ten Years in the Future letter today.

7 Keys for Manifesting Your Deepest Desires

7 Keys for Manifesting your Deepest Desires
    By Matt Clarkson

Would you be interested in a simple formula you can use to attract what you want faster than you ever thought you could?

That’s exactly what we’re going to cover here.

You see, I’ve noticed that people make several big mistakes when goal-setting and . Let’s talk now about how you can avoid these mistakes and create the life you want.

It’s very important that you frame your correctly as I’m about to explain. Do the following whenever you set intentions and goals and you’ll find yourself attracting good things at a speed that will amaze you.

By the way, if you prefer the word “goals” or “outcomes” instead of the word “intention” – that’s fine. I’m going to use the word “intention” to mean all of these things.

So let’s discuss The 7 Keys For Manifesting Your Deepest Desires…

Key #1: Make Sure You Set Your Intention!
I know it sounds obvious but this has to be the number one reason why people don’t get what they want. Look, in any situation you’re either creating what you want or you’re reacting to what is.

When people pretend they are not responsible for what they’re creating in their lives, they’re really choosing to accept what they DON’T want. The first step in creating your life the way you want it is to accept responsibility for what is. It’s not Mum and Dad’s fault, the boss’s fault or God’s fault. You’re driving you’re own bus and you’re the one who’s in control of your life.

This can be a bitter pill to swallow for many people. But anything less than accepting full responsibility for what you attract will not manifest your deepest desires. Let’s look at the next key, shall we?

Key #2: Make Your Intention Best For All

Many goal-setting methods encourage us to set all kinds of goals without fully considering the consequences. The problem with that is that what’s good for one area of your life may have a negative impact on the rest of your life, others or the planet.

Okay, I’m sure the majority of people have good motives and would not knowingly set intentions that would hurt themselves or others. However, it’s also true that the enemy of the BEST is often the GOOD. An intention may be safe for all, but is it really what’s BEST for all? I encourage you to consider the consequences and to always check in with your heart before setting an intention. I like to meditate before setting an intention on the bigger issues. Get this key right and you’ll have the inertia of the Universe working with you.

Key #3: Your Intention Must Be Positively Stated

I’m sure you’ve heard this one before – but are you applying it? Listen carefully to what you say to yourself when you talk about what you want and don’t want. What percentage of what you say is framed negatively like, “I’m sick of work” or, “We need to stop arguing” etc etc. Negatively framed intentions need to be changed to the positive. What DO you want?

Key #4: Your Intention Must Be Clear & Concise

Go ahead and write pages of detail about your dreams. Going into lots of detail creates the passion needed to turn your dreams into reality. Just be sure that you also have a statement of intent in the form of a nutshell type statement.By clear and concise I mean one or two sentences at the most. Remember – If you cannot say it, you cannot have it!

Key #5: State Your Intention In Present Tense Language

Frame your intention in present tense language. For example, don’t say, “By 1st January 2010 I will own a Ferrari”. Instead say, “It is now 1st January 2010 and I’m looking at my brand new Ferrari”. Framing your intention in the present tense helps you create the feeling of already having created your outcome. This is very important.

Key #6: Your Intention Should Be Both Believable & Challenging

You must believe and expect your outcome is on it’s way. Nothing gives you more belief than a history of success. If you’ve never had success in some area, it’s better to start smaller – get some successes under your belt and build up.Play with the time limit and the size of the goal. If you’ve always been successful in a given area then it’s time to scale up your intention and/or move it closer to the present. What would be more challenging for you? Set intentions that stretch you and that you can fully believe will happen in the time frame you set.

Key #7: Know Your Evidence Procedure

Critically important. How will you know when your outcome has happened? Where will you be? What will be your experience? What will you see, hear, feel, say and do etc?Build the evidence procedure into your statement of intent. For example, “It is now 1st January 2010 and I am looking at my brand new Ferrari and I feel great!” Including the evidence procedure makes it easy for the Universe to understand your intention and make it manifest. Finally, some of this may serve as a reminder of what you already know to make sure you’re putting this into practice.

You may also find that you’ve been missing one or more of these keys and that by adding the missing key, you’ll sky-rocket your results. “To infinity and beyond”!

Focus Your Mind on What You Want

I hope you find this article as motivational as I do!

Great ideas to take action now and stay focused on one goal.

I wish you well on getting what you want.

    ===========

How to Focus Your Mind to Get Anything You Want
    By Joel Chue

I was literally broke just 13 months ago… But I earned over $250,000 in 2007… How did I do it?

    capital
Creative Commons License photo credit: iChaz

It wasn’t rocket science… You just have to do CERTAIN THINGS everyday… You can’t expect success by doing the same things that lead you to failure

Read the following quote from MIT scientist that changed my life:

What’s the reason why you haven’t yet achieved what you want? It’s not your parents, it’s not your friends, it’s not your spouse, and it’s not your “bad luck”… It’s not the world’s economic situation, it’s not the competition, it’s not your boss… and it’s not president Bush…

    The reason is you

To be more exact, the reason is in your mind… and the things you do everyday…

So, how did I finally do it?

First, I gave my mind a brand new, positive, empowering shift!

You have to know what you really want. Instead of focusing on 3-4 goals at once, focus in ONLY 1 goal you want to accomplish in the next 30 days.

Write the goal in a piece of paper, in this format:

In my case, it was a monetary goal so…

“By the first day of January 2009, I’ll have in my possession $250,000, which will come to me in various amounts. In return for this money, I will have done whatever is necessary and appropriate in my business (describe the business you already have or intend to build) in an easily and fun manner.”

Spend at least 30 minutes creating a mental picture of you having achieved your goal in the exact date specified.

You will have to close your eyes and make it as vivid as possible, involving all 5 senses (smell, sight, touch, hearing and taste) as fully as possible in the picture you create in your mind’s eye.

The Focus Primer: You have to read aloud your description and re-create your mental picture twice a day. First thing upon waking up, and 10 minutes before bedtime.

This is how the mind works. Give it a target and it will hit it.

Now here comes the best part…

Translating Goals, Desires into Immediate Actions

Most people’s goals are nothing but weak desires. As a result, they will always find excuses to stay within their comfort zone and put it off. The ultimate way to achieve anything you want lies in ACTION.

    The 48 Hours Challenge

Grab a blank piece of paper and divide the page into two. On the left side, write the goal you want to accomplish in the next 30 days. And on the right, list down 5 things you can do to bring you closer to your goal.

Ensure that you have one task that you can carry out immediately upon finishing this exercise.

And for the other 4 action steps you have listed, assign the specific time and date that you will have it done, within the 48 hours assignment period.

Once you have done that, pin that piece of paper on your bathroom mirror and start working on that first task you have set. Get it done before continuing reading the rest of the report.

They say that taking the first step is the most difficult one. We are often held back by inertia. The moment we start taking the first few steps towards a goal, we will gain momentum and continue on until we realize it.

By taking on the 48 hours challenge, to act on 5 action steps within 48 hours of setting the goal, you break out of your comfort zone and excuses and you are telling your brain that you are SERIOUS in getting what you want!

And at the end of the 48 hours challenge, set aside 3 hours to plan further action steps you HAVE to take EVERYDAY (excluding weekends) to get you where you want to be.

Getting what you want is easy.

But if it’s as easy as I’ve said, why doesn’t everybody do this? For every 100 people who had read this article, only 1 or 2 will end up putting it into practice.

    Why?

Everybody desires to succeed, but only a few are truly COMMITTED to their goals. Unless you truly want what you want… you will never take the necessary action outlined in this report… for there’s always something more important that comes up to fill up your time.

    Are you ready to commit?

Are you ready to make the change?

Are you ready to get what you want?
